31^st August 2025 - Broadwell Amateurs secure win over Bishops Cleeve Development

Following a good win in midweek at Tytherington, Bishops Cleeve Development couldn’t take their form up to Broadwell and were well beaten. Sharpness join Frampton at the top on maximum points whilst Quedgeley have made an encouraging start to the campaign. Next week is a break from the league when the first round of the Les James League Cup takes place.

At the Hawthorns Broadwell Amateurs made a fast start against Bishops Cleeve Development talking the lead on three minutes, from a long throw into the box a partial clearance fell and sat up for Kian Skidmore to half volley into the top left corner. There was not much more to the first half , although Cleeve did have a close attempt just past the post. Into the second half which was only 4 minutes old when, after a succession of corners by Skidmore, the final of which was met by Kris Burnard at the back post for 2-0. Like buses you wait for one and a second comes almost straight away and two minutes on a Cleeve clearance fell to Jack Knight 35 yards out and a half volley was dispatched straight over a scrambling Noah Sunter for 3-0. Cleeve pushed on and although they had a decent free-kick off the crossbar and forced a couple of decent saves from Jack Watkins, Well’s defence held strong and 3-0 it remained.

After weeks of hot weather there was a stark contrast in wet and breezy conditions at Arnall Drive for Henbury & Rockleaze against Sharpness, and unfortunately both H&R’s finishing and luck in front of goal didn’t change. H&R started the stronger, but Sharpness edged the first half overall, H&R saw lots of possession in the first 10 minutes without creating any clear cut chances. Sharpness scored the games only goal on 18 minutes when James Tainton strode through the middle of the defence and dispatched his effort past Harry Trett. On 25 minutes Sharks Kieran Bennett struck a volley just wide from the edge of the box and on 29 minutes Trett made his only real save of the game, turning round the post Michael Bryant’s vicious effort. On 34 minutes both teams were reduced to ten, H&R’s Cam Tarr for pulling down his man, and Sharks Kieran Bennett for a headbutt. This sparked H&R into action and Harvey Moran hit the crossbar right on half time with a dipping effort from the corner of the box. The second half was one-way traffic but H&R couldn’t find the equaliser. On 47 minutes Rhys Iles had an attempt well saved by Sharks keeper Pete Dykes and on 61 minutes Nick Jones drive from the edge of the area sailed narrowly wide. On 62 minutes Dykes made a superb save from a Drew Sawdon header and five minutes later Sam Bailey’s 25 yard effort struck the post with Dykes for once well beaten. H&R kept pushing and on 79 minutes thought they had equalised when Iles close range shot looked goal bound only for that man Dykes to make a miracle save! The final act of the game saw Tommy Collins’ effort from distance deflect just wide of the post. Despite being down to nine, from a sin-binning, Sharpness saw out the last few minutes to take the three points 1-0 and join Frampton at the top.

Would a change in the weather bring a change in Wick’s luck or a repeat of last week’s lack-lustre effort. Unfortunately for the Wick crowd it appeared to be the latter against Bromley Heath United when after two minutes a mistake by the Wick centre halves gifted the ball to Bromley’s Jake Millward who made no mistake firing the visitor’s into the lead. The Wick attack broke through the middle on five minutes but Will Ferguson saved well. Things got worse for Wick on nine minutes when after losing the ball in midfield Bromley broke down the right, squaring the ball past Kai Wilson for the on-rushing Jack Waldron to finish into an empty net. Home supporters braced themselves for what looked like another long afternoon, as Bromley continued to look dangerous for most of the half but the home side managed to break on 40 minutes but the shot was straight at Ferguson, however, right on half time Cory Langdon pulled back a goal to give Wick a foot hold in the game. Wick began the second half better than the first, which wasn’t exactly hard! Ten minutes in Wick shot wide but on 65 minutes they drew level with George Lloyd scoring from an acute angle. On 80 minutes Langdon broke down the left only for his shot to be headed clear. It was Langdon again two minutes later but his shot was kept out by Ferguson and 2-2 it ended.

On a wet and windy afternoon at the Stoke Gifford Stadium,Stoke Giford SGS United and Totterdown United played out a five goal thriller. Gifford were in the lead on 15 minutes through Payryk Kosciolek with Totts Ollie Lovell just wide of the goal on 22 minutes. On 25 minutes Harry Ford headed in Gifford’s second. On the half hour Oscar Sealey’s shot was well saved by Totts keeper Ash Martin. Just before half time a Sealey shot ricocheted to Masood Garder and Martin saved the shot with Sealey missing the rebound. On 51 minutes good approach play gave Ford the chance from close range and 3-0 it was. On 65 minutes Chaz Hemmings pulled one back for Totts heading in from a corner, and on 70 minutes he tried to chip Evan Healan from 40 yards. Five minutes from time Marcus Thatcher held off his defender to slot home sealing a 4-1 victory for Gifford.

At Elm Park Filton Athletic took on Tytherington Rocks for a match that unfortunately never went the distance. The game started in heavy rain and the first chance fell to the visitors when a shot from Toby Waterman was well saved by Tom Bradley, with Chris Hillyer blocking Ollie briggs back up. Rocks had another chance when Waterman’s shot was blocked by Jack Willmore and the resulting corner bounced around the Filton box before the incoming shot brought a great save from Tom Bradley. Filton started to eek out some chances, Venables from distance wide and Abdulrahman also from distance. Rocks then drew a good save from Bradley from Briggs’ effort. Filton then struck the bar, Venables deep cross headed goalwards by Cooper. Both teams started the second half creating half chances and Cooper had a big chance on the hour when good wing play by Merrett who put in a low cross towards Cooper, but the ball went under his foot! He didn’t dwell on that because moments later a Dan Payne shot was blocked and Cooper slid the ball home for 1-0. On 75 minutes Rocks Ben Cook went into a strong challenge with Liam Dorman in which Cook got a shoulder injury and couldn’t continue or move so the game was abandoned.

The other match this weekend was Quedgeley Wanderers v Hanham Athletic, both teams started the game with fight wanting to gain points out of the game. Quedgeley's Fin Jenner had his first shot of the game on target in the 5^th minute but the Hanham keeper saved it. Hanham's first chance of the game came when they were awarded a penalty in the 17^th minute after a foul, however they missed their chance to open the scoreline as Kieran Derbyshire comfortably saved it. Quedgeley retaliated with on target shots from Fin Jenner and Riley Stokes. Just before the half time whistle, Hanham found the back of the net when a free kick on the right hand touchline was awarded taken by McKyle Beck but found the back of the net by Lewis Williams.
Quedgeley came out fighting the second half, determined to equalise. 5 minutes into the second half, Quedgely were awarded a penalty, this was easily converted by Dylan Venn with a strong strike to the bottom left hand corner. This started the ball rolling on Quedgeley's scoring when 10 minutes later in the 60^th minute deservedly Fin Jenner tapped the ball in putting Quedgeley into the lead. The result was sealed when in thr 70^th minute Fin Jenner produced a powerful hit into the bottom right hand corner. Quedgeley dominated the 2^nd half and came out worthy winners.

24^th August 2025 - Frampton United win at Henbury & Rockleaze to top table

Frampton United now sit neatly at the top with a good three points at Arnall Drive, Henbury, and following a good mid-week win over Chalford. I’m sure they won’t have it all their own way as the season unfolds. Cribbs Reserves have had an extremely difficult start, as have fellow newcomers Tewkesbury Town.

A bright afternoon at Arnall Drive saw Frampton United visit Henbury & Rockleaze who had a frustrating afternoon. In the very first minute Harvey Moran lobbed Tom Kaye in the Frampton goal only to see the ball hit the hard ground and bounce over the top. Drew Sawdon had a good fourth minute chance from a corner but couldn’t direct the ball goalwards. On 37 minutes Sawdon had another presentable chance from Nick Jones cross but the ball went narrowly over. A few minutes later a switch from Jones to Moran saw Kaye make a superb save turning the ball round the post. From the resulting corner Sawdon’s header struck the bar, and the ball bounced along the goal-line allowing Frampton to clear.

H&R started the second half in the same vein, and on 51 minutes George James should have done better with a header from Moran’s cross. In the next minute Moran went clear but a good save from Kaye kept the scores level. In the 56th minute Frampton had their first real chance when substitute George Parker fired straight at Harry Trett. In the 75th minute Frampton threw the sucker punch when Parker stole in and fired a left wing cross past Trett for 1-0. Frampton were now in the driving seat with Jackson striking the foot of the post. Frampton saw out the remaining minutes to ensure that they took the three points back up the M5.

Despite the lack of rain the straw coloured pitch at Oldbury Lane was in great condition for Wick v Filton Athletic, who started much the brighter of the two sides preventing Wick from enjoying any possession. After 5 minutes Filton fashioned the first shot of the game, but just wide of the goal. After 8 minutes Wick lost the ball in midfield and Filton took advantage with a sweeping move that found Kieron Cooper to fire past Kai Wilson for 1-0. On 31 minutes Wick gifted the ball to Trey Merrett who broke unopposed to drill the ball home for Filton’s second. Four minutes later a deep cross from the Filton right was not dealt with by the Wick defence and Wilson made a brilliant save from a header but the ball fell to Dylan Quick who smashed Filton’s third, unfortunately leaving Wilson injured from the initial save. Worse was to come for the hosts when Merrett scored a 30 yard screamer from the left into the top corner. Wick four down and Finley Sparkes deputising for Wilson, the second half was a more even affair and on 65 minutes Wick clawed one back, substitute Ellis Clarke scoring with an excellent finish. With the damage done in the first half, there was no way back for Wick and towards the end Sparkes saved well to deny Filton a fifth but at 4-1 Filton were worthy winners on the day.

At Hamfields Sharpness were up against Tewkesbury Town, and the hosts had the best of the early play with James Tainton causing problems. Sharpness took the lead when Tainton and Alfie Jones linked up well to give Kieran Bennett a tap in. Sharpness continued to have the upper hand and doubled their lead when a good through ball from Jones sent Bennett one-on-one and he finished well for 2-0. Jones then had a great chance for the third but couldn’t find the finishing touch. Towards the end of the half Tewkesbury came more into the game and finished the half strongly with a couple of efforts narrowly over. Tewkesbury started the second half where they left off and halved the deficit when a long ball forward caught the Sharks defence out and Beasley latched onto the ball and finished well. Tewkesbury were causing problems and had opportunities from corners and free kicks but were dealt with well by keeper Dykes and his defence. Then, against the run of play Tainton went on a mazy run and exchanged a couple of passes with Higgs and Bryant before crossing, great composure was shown by Bryant to set up Bennett with another good finish for his hat-trick. Sharks went hunting for a fourth with subs Palmer and Will Tainton both going close, but the game finished 3-1 and the Sharks secured victory against a very good Tewkesbury Town team.

At Vicarage Road, Hanham Athletic met Ruardean Hill Rangers who were on their first outing of the season. Ruardean started the stronger and keeper David Taylor did well to keep out a good effort by Ollie Mason. Hanham had their first chance on 34 minutes when Sam Archer’s effort was well tipped over by Aaron Underwood. Hill should have scored two minutes before the break when Mason shot over from six yards with the goal gaping, and they were unlucky when a fantastic effort from Luke Brown cannoned off the crossbar. Hanham’s job was made even harder when Liam Dibble got himself a second yellow and Hill made the ten men pay taking a deserved lead when Mason finished off a great move to score. They made the game safe right on full time when Steve Clarke finished off a cut back and 2-0 for three points.

At The Hawthorns Broadwell Amateurs took on Cribbs Reserves with five games played between them and not a point to show. But, it was a fast start for Broadwell and they had the lead on three minutes, Kristian Burnard getting on the end of a move he started, the ball fell kindly off a block tackle and broke for Burnard to run through and slot under Jude Brown. Well had further chances to increase their lead but were wasteful in front of goal. The second goal for Well came on 23 minutes with Harry Malcolm breaking up play in the Cribbs half and playing out wide for Jamie Belfitt who drove to the by-line and a wicked cross was turned in by a Cribbs defender under pressure from Kian Skidmore. Broadwell missed a chance for 3-0 when a penalty was awarded for a foul on Jordi Locke after a mazy run into the box. Burnard’s spot kick was saved by Brown, onto the post and out to safety. Cribbs best chance of the half came right on half time, a mix-up at the back but a rather tame shot was dealt with by Jack Watkins. Cribbs started the second half brightly and took control creating a number of good opportunities from set-pieces but Broadwell were able to weather the storm. Broadwell made the game safe on 58 minutes following a deep kick by Watkins, flicked on by Burnard which sent Skidmore through on goal finishing well low under the on-rushing Brown. And, 3-0 it finished for Broadwell.

17^th August 2025 - Hanham Athletic get the better of Broadwell Amateurs

An eventful afternoon with one match not started (pitch unfit), one match abandoned, and, four teams at the top on four points, with five (who’ve started their season) without a point.

At Vicarage Road, Hanham Athletic entertained Broadwell Amateurs and it was Broadwell with the games first chance when Ben Fishwicks shot was well saved by Lincoln Tooker after the Hanham keepers clearance went straight to him. In a first half, short on clear cut chances, Hanham took the lead on 43 minutes with Jordan Rickman starting the move and finishing it from a fine cross by CJay Summerline. Rickman should have scored on 48 minutes but shot wide after being put through by Summerline. Jack Watkins saved well on the hour from Liam Maggs and then, five minutes later, Broadwell equalised when a poor shot somehow found its way to Jamie Belfitt who finished into the corner. A fine free kick by Preston Webb was brilliantly headed in by Karim Rendall to restore Hanham’s lead in the 80^th minute and right on full-time great work by Rendall on the left taking the ball and laying it on a plate for Summerline to tap home for a final score of 3-1 to Hanham.

Cribbs Reserves welcomed Tytherington Rocks to the Lawns for their first home game of the season and after an even first twenty minutes Rocks had the ball in the net only for it to be ruled out for a foul. In response Cribbs’ James Carolan tried his luck from 45 yards lobbing the keeper, but saw the ball bounce just wide. On 35 minutes Alex Craig’s through ball set up Bryson Ladip but he was denied by Billy Pullin’s good save, and another half chance for Cribbs with Andy Capon volleying just wide. Just before the break, Rocks had two great chances to score, Toby Waterman missed from close range and another shot just wide. Into the second half and a goal eventually came on 75 minutes when Ollie Briggs latched onto a through ball, composed himself, and slotted past Corey Weir to give Rocks the lead. A few minutes later Weir kept Cribbs in the game, tipping over an excellent shot by Stu Nelson. On 80 minutes, Cribbs substitutes combined, Jake Harris crossing for Toby Pocock, whose volley was saved, then Pocock again, from outside the box, firing just over. With Cribbs pushing for an equaliser Rocks broke away and a cool finish from sub Tom Bidder made the final score 2-0 to Rocks.

A sunny afternoon at the Stoke Gifford stadium for the match between Stoke Gifford SGS United and Sharpness. It was the visitors who had the better of the first 20 minutes and with a shot from Michael Bryant going just wide was about all that was to show despite dominating possession. The best chance of the half went to Gifford on 41 minutes when Oscar Sealey running through fired just wide of the post. Sharks took the lead two minutes into the second half when a long throw wasn’t defended leaving Bryant to fire home. On 55 minutes, it was two when Brad Gibbs headed home a free kick. Stoke Gifford dominated the last 25 minutes but couldn’t find a break through with Harry Ford closest hitting the bar. In time added on a great ball played by Patryk Kosciolek found Masood Garder to slot home, but it was too late for Gifford to salvage anything, Sharpness taking it 2-1.

At Elm Park, Filton Athletic ran out comprehensive winners against Chalford. The game started very scrappily as both teams got used to the conditions. An early chance fell for Filton when the lively Dylan Quick ran straight at the Chalford defence but was well defended by Will Benneyworth, who was unfortunately injured himself in the process and was replaced. The game was pretty even up to 40 minutes then, Chalford’s Jack Hughes shot wide before Filton’s Yusuf Abdulrahman crossed for Fraser Venables to shoot, saved by Sam Neale. The deadlock was broken on the stroke of half-time, great work by Tom Fry found Quick to finish neatly past Neale. Filton came out on top in the second half, Quick having a chance to double his tally but his shot from outside the box was straight at Neale. Filton made a few changes and Trey Merrett was straight in to the action and his good work and cross was met by Quick for 2-0. Moments later the two combined again with Merrett finding Quick to complete his hat-trick. Filton made it four when Said Hassan found Merrett on the edge of the box who finished in to the top corner for a final score of 4-0 and a good value Filton win.

Totterdown United welcomed Quedgeley Wanderers to Norton Lane under difficult conditions with an extremely dry pitch and the heat forcing water breaks. Quedgeley, on the back of a win at Broadwell were full of confidence and a battered and bruised Totterdown from their last game had a number of players out. Quedgeley started with a passing game whilst Totts took a more direct route. But, it was Quedgeley who got the opener with a good through ball which was squared to Riley Stokes to tap home. Totterdown bounced back and ten minutes later equalised with a well worked short corner, Ollie Lovell drilling home at the near post from just inside the area. Both teams huffed and puffed in the heat and after a drinks break, Totts Chaz Hemmings rattled the post from a curling effort 25 yards out and then Charlie Curling ballooned a header over the bar from 5 yards out unmarked. The second half began with more of the same from both sides and it was Quedgeley who forced Ashley Martin in to a smart far post save. Totts Jack Hearsey put a chance wide of the far post from Lovell’s cross and the best chance of the half went to Totterdown with both Lovell and Saunders finding themselves through on goal but somehow got in the way of each other and the chance was gone and the spoils were shared at 1-1.

On an extremely hot afternoon at Arnall Drive Henbury & Rockleaze shared the points with Bromley Heath United in a cagey affair. H&R started strongly and Harvey Moran maybe should have done better after ghosting past full back Cripps was one-on-one with Will Ferguson but was caught in two minds and fired high and wide. Moran had another shot on 5 minutes narrowly over after good work by Drew Sawdon and Tommy Collins. The remainder of the half was end to end without any clear cut chances until the 45^th minute, firstly, Cam Tarr should have done better when heading wide from Marcus Williams corner, then deep into time added on Bleran Thaqi swiped away the legs of a Bromley attacker and Cameron Ford smashed the resultant penalty in for 1-0 to Bromley. The second half started strongly before both teams tired on an energy sapping day. Bromley struck a post on 50 minutes from Jake Millward’s volley with Harry Trett relieved to see the ball back in his arms from the rebound off the post, then H&R went up the other end to equalise, Moran beat his man to get to the by-line before rolling the ball back to Sawdon to tap in for 1-1. Both teams tried to get a winner for the remaining 40 minutes but neither goalkeeper was really troubled and a 1-1 draw was ultimately the right result.

At Kayte Lane Bishops Cleeve Development hosted Wick for their opening home fixture. Wick started the brighter of the two sides and prolific goal-scorer Cory Langdon opened his account adding to last weeks two goals. But, it was Cleeve who dominated for the rest of the half, equalising on 12 minutes with a goal from Ben Hunt from near the halfway line! Further goals from Monty New and Harry Davis had them in control at half time. The second half began much the same with Cleeve scoring a penalty through George Cuzner before Ubaid Salehbhai added his first of the season for 5-1. It was at this point that confusion set in, as the Referee noticed an error in not sending off Cuzner for a second booking. At a water break on 69 minutes it was urged that the Wick players removed themselves from the pitch, despite being agreed that Cleeve would remove a player and chalk a goal off to atone for the Referee’s error. But, to no avail and the game was abandoned.

10^th August 2025 - Bromley Heath win at Tewkesbury Town

Here we go again, summer still with us, stiflingly hot, and grassroots football underway. Some interesting matches to start with none of the new Clubs able to win, showing the strength of the League. Wick started looking ominously good as did most of last seasons’ challengers.

At Northway Playing Fields Tewkesbury Town met the challenge of Bromley Heath United. It was a close game with few chances at either end for the first 40 minutes. It was Bromley Heath who took the lead with Mason Lewis given a bit too much space and shot over Isaac Parry’s head. The equaliser wasn’t long coming when a Lee Llewelyn corner picked out Tony Hosking to head in at the back post. Shortly after the interval a mix-up in the Tewkesbury box saw Mitch Greenaway put the visitors in front. From then on Bromley stifled Tewkesbury’s play and held on for a good first win by 2-1.

At the Bellfield Frampton United hosted Stoke Gifford SGS United in a rematch of last weeks Ron Holpin Trophy game, and it looked like it was going to be a similar result as well, with Stoke Gifford starting brightly and they were in the lead within five minutes through Patryk Kosciolek. Frampton slowly got into the game and equalised on 32 minutes, Theo Brown chasing a through ball down, beating the keeper to the ball and crossing for Manolo Marquez to tap home. After a good spell of play from the hosts a Freddie Porter shot was cleared out to Harry Churchley who fired home for 2-1. On 77 minutes Tyler Jagger was brought down outside the box and from the resulting free-kick Marquez sealed a 3-1 Frampton win.

At Hardwicke Playing Fields Tytherington Rocks played their first game back in the County League against Hanham Athletic. Both teams started slowly looking not to concede early on. Hanham created the first chance but were denied by a good save by the home keeper Billy Pullin. Tytherington made chances but strong Hanham defending kept chances to a minimum. Rocks were denied two goals from Toby Waterman firstly for a foul on the keeper and the second for offside. Hanham thought they had scored but were denied by a Jack Pullin goal-line clearance, but overall neither side did enough to win the game and a 0-0 draw was a fair result.

Filton Athletic’s first game back at Elm Park against Henbury and Rockleaze was arguably the match of the day. The first big chance of the day fell to Filton, Fraser Venables winning a header in midfield finding Kieran Cooper who fired wide of Harry Trett’s goal. Shortly after Venables’ free kick caused Trett a few problems but he cleared for a corner. In the 24^th minute H&R’s Kai Elliott cut in from the right and shot over Tom Bradley’s goal, then Cameron Tarr had an effort from distance narrowly over. The home side finished the half strongly with Cooper playing Dan Payne in who tried to lob Trett who made the save and the same two combined again but Payne couldn’t finish. The second half had both teams cancelling each other out. H&R had a couple of chances Elliott’s shot saved by Bradley and the Tasman Rook was denied by the keeper. On 71 minutes Fraser Venables had a free kick in a good position but Trett saved well, and then Kyle Thomas came on to try and win it, and in the last few minutes Venables found him but he shot straight at Trett. A good game ended 0-0.

The seasons opener saw Wick welcome Cribbs Reserves to the Nest. Wick started brightly with their passing game, keeping Cribbs on the back foot for long periods. Despite having a lot of the ball it wasn’t until the 15^th minute that Wick had a shot on goal which was well saved by Corey Weir, and a minute later Weir was lobbed and a great clearance kept the scores level. On 30 minutes Keeper Kai Wilson punted long for Cory Langdon who laid back to Louis Short to shot over. Just after Wick got their reward for their possession when George Lloyd fired in from an acute angle for 1-0. Cribbs were still very in touch with things at the break but Wick started the second half as they had done in the first pushing forward and two minutes in Short was away down the middle but shot wide. A minute later the goal machine Langdon latched on to a loose ball to put Wick two in front. On 65 minutes Langdon made no mistake in front of goal for Wick’s third. Wick were now full of energy and a great ball pit Freddie Mogg through on 75 minutes but his effort was well saved. Wick got their fourth when Kai Shellard scored on his debut. Cribbs never gave up and forced Wilson into two fine saves to keep the score 4-0 to Wick.

Totterdown United welcomed Bishops Cleeve Development to Norton Lane for the League opener. Both teams started in a positive manner but it was Totts who took an early lead when George Saunders made a run in behind and cut the ball back to Ollie Lovell who danced through a few Cleeve defenders before slotting home. Shortly after Totterdown doubled their lead with a well worked short corner and Lovell’s shot was directed in by Aaron Thorn. Cleeve hit back ten minutes later with a scuffed shot falling at Dan Beasley’s feet who dispatched it well. Two minutes later Cleeve were awarded a penalty for a challenge by Frazer Clarke. Kian Gardiner dispatched the spot kick for 2-2. The second half saw both sides huff and puff in the heat on a very dry pitch. Totts edged it missing three great chances and 2-2 it finished and Cleeve happy with their point on the road.

In yesterdays other match at The Hawthorns Broadwell Amateurs slipped up against Quedgeley Wanderers by 2-1. Very little action in the first 15 minutess, both sides cancelling each other out, 17 minutes in a penalty to Quedgeley following a challenge from behind, excellent save low to the left by Jack Watkins. The deadlock was broken from a free kick 20 yards out, well struck low and around the wall by Dan Brain to give Broadwell the lead, Broadwell going in at HT 1-0 up. The second half was even with few chances until the 73^rd minute with Quedgeley equalising after Broadwell failing to clear their lines, deep cross from the right and a good header fron Henty Miles for 1-1, shortly after on 85 minutess, Quedgeley took the lead with the ball breaking in the centre of the pitch, a through ball and cut back, there was a scramble in the box with the ball being poked home by Finlay Jenner for 2-1 to Quedgeley.

The Preliminary and First Round draws for the Les James League Cup sponsored by Boca Teamwear was made at the League Meeting last week and the full draw is as below.

New boy's Tewkesbury Town host fellow new boys Bishops Cleeve Development. in the preliminary round on August 12^th with the winners hosting Filton Athletic in the First Round

The constitution for season 2025-26 was confirmed at the AGM.

Congratulations to Almondsbury who have been promoted to the Jewson Western League

The league loses Gala Wilton and Cheltenham Civil Service who have been relegated to the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League

The league welcomes Tewkesbury Town who are promoted from the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League. Bishops Cleeve Development who have been promoted from the UHL Hellenic League Division 2.
Cribbs Reserves who have been demoted from the Jewson Western League by the FA and Tytherington Rocks who have taken a voluntary relegation from the UHL Hellenic League.

The League matches will start on 9^th August, end date to be confirmed by the FA probably 2^nd May 2026.

The season will open with the Ron Holpin Trophy between Stoke Gifford SGS United and Frampton United on 2^nd August at 3:00 PM
